Why am I asked to check the car for damage?

 

 

Before you start the engine, we ask that you check the car for damage. If you find damage that is not shown in the damage overview in the app, report the damage in the app or call customer service before your trip. Any damage to the car’s chassis, such as a dent or scratch, smaller than a debit card need not be reported
We can verify that you did not cause the damage by checking the time the car was started and comparing it to the time the damage was reported. If you do not report damage or do not do so on time, we may pass on the costs of the damage to you. No one wants to pay for damage that they did not cause themselves, so make sure to report damage in the app on time. Read more about reporting damage.
